Nugelato is an ice cream boutique that originated in Newcastle, Co. Down, in May 2015. Known for its signature creation, the Nuggy Pot, Nugelato aims to offer the best ice cream experience in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The brand has successfully expanded, establishing shops across Northern Ireland, including Newry, Bangor, Stranmillis, Portadown, Cookstown, Kilkeel, Ballymena, Crumlin Road, and Andersontown. This widespread presence suggests a growing popularity and success for Nugelato in various locations. 



Nugelato offers the ultimate indulgent experience with a diverse range to suit every taste. Whether you prefer classics like the Knickerbocker Glory or more innovative options like the Nuggy Pot, Nuggy Burrito, and Nuggy Pop, there's something for everyone. Additionally, they provide hot offerings such as waffles, crepes, and indulgent hot chocolates, ensuring a variety of delicious treats to enjoy. The staff at Nugelato is friendly, although there might be occasional queues. Rest assured, the wait is undoubtedly worthwhile for the experience they offer.
My go-to is the Kinder Bueno Nuggy Pot at Nugelato. It features a delightful mix of Nutella and vanilla ice cream, combined with chopped nuts, Kinder Bueno pieces, and a generous drizzle of hot chocolate sauce. Topped with fresh cream and a Nugelato wafer, it's a harmonious blend of textures and flavors that never fails to satisfy my sweet cravings. I'm eager to make a prompt visit to Nugelato and try their tempting hot chocolates. Their indulgent and sweet-topped hot beverages sound like the ideal winter warmer for all the upcoming catch-ups and dates.

    I’ve been to Newcastle many time and all the times I have been, there is always a queue in the shop and sometimes goes outside of the shop. Obviously very popular, will have to check it out next time I’m there.
